Another advantage, according to Athlon, is that the CPU will use less power, saving your battery up-time compared to something equivalent from Intel. However, at an average of six hours of battery time, I'd say that this is only average. The unit itself is lightweight, under 5 lbs. It comes with wireless LAN, a 14 inch screen, 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM. A built-in webcam and a cable-free method of transferring photos from your camera (digital reader) make this a great choice for travel involving web communication and uploading photos. (This is how I used to use my laptop when I went overseas, so I can appreciate these two features in particular.) Bought it to replace old desktop. It is fast and light-weight. Screen is bright and crisp. Keyboard action is soft and quiet. Camera works well for Skyping. Sound quality is good. Plenty of hard drive and memory. Not sure what other reviewer is referencing when he says this laptop is "noisy." Fan runs once in a while to cool it down but you will have that with any laptop. Mine is very quiet.
