Initially I couldn't decide whether to buy a 10" android tablet or a netbook, but after pricing and researching both, I decided on a netbook. The netbooks aren't as compact as the tablets and don't have the touch screens, but for surfing the web, playing web videos, and running regular windows programs, the netbook was definitely a better choice for me, particularly at the $250 price point. I then researched various netbooks, from Dell to Toshiba etc. Acer seemed to have a decent reputation in the netbook arena, and they had a great price on this model which has the latest dual core Atom chip. I had read some reviews that said that the netbooks can be slow, but I have not found any problem with the speed of this one. I did purchase a 2 GB RAM card, and upgraded the RAM on mine. It was a bit challenging, taking the Acer apart to replace the RAM card, but there are YouTube videos that describe how to do it. All in all, I am... It is a play between CPU and GPU usage. Your little Aspire isn't choking on video streaming. It isn't set up for it. Please: 1) Right click on desktop 2) Click AMD Vision Engine Control Center 3) Click "Video Quality" under Video settings 4) Click "Other Video Settings" 5) Scroll down, click "Apply current video quality settings to Internet video" If you don't do this you have your CPU running at 100% ALL the time you are streaming. It's going to hiccup, especially if anything is running in the background. After you do this the load will be on your graphics card where it belongs.
