The computer comes with Windows 7 Starter and it has MicroSoft Office installed as well. You need a product key to use the office software and the instructions are very clear as to how you can purchase a license key or use an existing key. The batter charges quickly and lasts a long time. We are easily getting 4 hours with the battery. It comes with 1GB of RAM so we purchased a 2GB memory card with the intention of an upgrade. To install the RAM, you must remove the keyboard to gain access to 5 screws that hold the bottom cover. The disassembly process is not documented but is easier than it sounds.
